To further refine my ideas and experiment adding the aspect of smoke to photographs that show more open spaces, I have decided to experiment incorporating the physical smoke effect that I have just explored into my photographs in the style of Mark and Mann. I believe this may be difficult due to the fact that the photographs are set outside, which realistically would give a different visually effect to the smoke. But, I am still willing to experiment with this and see whether my outcomes are successful.

I have found that this experiment has been very unsuccessful. Due to the fact that the smoke I was trying to incorporate had a black backdrop, it meant it was difficult to blend the two opposing backdrops together due to the high contrast between them. Therefore, if I were to continue experimenting with this technique I would have to make sure the smoke image itself had a very light background or no background at all.

As a mini shoot, I plan to experiment with whether creating a small amout of smoke outside is effective and whether this saves me having to digitally edit the smoke in to my photographs...

I have found this experiment purposeful but not very effective as the smoke produced by the incense stick doesn't show up very well outside, reducing the effect of the overall photograph which I dislike.
