To experiment further in introducing smoke into my photography in different ways using a range of techniques and processes, I have decided to start by capturing simple photographs of smoke that later on I may be able to include within my photography. As this has been mainly inspired by the development of my work and my ideas, I have searched for a range of inspirational images and artists who capture images that I want to recreate. This will give me an idea of the process I will have to go through to create successful photographs, but will also show my possible compositions and backdrops...

I have found that is shoot has been fairly successful and that have captured a selection of beautiful smoke images. Although, I feel as if even with this enclosed setting the incense stick doesn’t create as much smoke as in my initial smoke experiments, but I believe I can re-enforce this by editing the best photographs. This has been an effective and purposeful shoot in showing a progression of my ideas leading me onto the next part of my project.

I believe the edits have helped to further enhance the smoke and make the photography’s more visually effective. To make the smoke stand out, I increased the contrast and the brightness capturing all aspects of the smoke and making it more powerful against the black backdrop.
